Someone should talk to the folks at Asus about the merits of subtlety. I don’t know about you, but I don’t take too kindly to being arrested from my slumber in a near military-style 4-alarm wakening. Ease me into the waking world with news of something dull and monotonous. Don’t jolt me back to life with talk of a Tegra 4 powered tablet boasting specs more likely found in the very dreams you just stole.
Yet here we are. It’s Computex 2013 and Asus kicked it off with a bombshell aka the all new Asus Transformer Pad Infinity. If you remember, we loved the original. Again, this new TI has been pumped up to a Tegra 4 powered tablet, which Nvidia claims is the world’s faster mobile processor. It is a powerhouse, at least on paper. It’s a quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU and 72-core GeForce GPU.
The Transformer Pad Infinity is gifted with a 10.1 inch WQXGA IPS display that laughs loud and hard at the competition with its 2560 x 1600 resolution. It also does 4K output over it’s HDMI out. So gaming, viewing high fidelity media and intensive graphic productivity should all be consumed quite easily on this new refreshed Transformer Pad Infinity. There’s also a battery in the dockable keyboard, which extends the batt-life of the pad when attached.
In keeping with the Jones’, the tablet also features a set of auto-focus cameras–rear- and front-facing 5MP/1.2MP, USB 3.0 port, SDXC card slot, dual-band 802.11a/b/n WiFi radio with Miracast support, Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR and 32GB or eMMC.
